Benefits of Registered Massage Therapy
“Massage Therapy is the assessment of the soft tissue and joints of the body and the treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissue and joints by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function, or relieve pain.”
(Massage Therapy Act, 1991)
Some benefits of massage therapy can include (but are not limited to):
-
Pain Management for chronic pain, muscle tension and injuries
-
Lower cortisol levels: therapeutic touch and a calming environment helps to promote relaxation, reduce stress and improve mental well-being
-
Improved Circulation
-
Enhanced Range of Motion: for those looking to recover from an injury or for those looking to enhance their physical performance
-
Injury Rehabilitation: Massage can help to accelerate the healing process, reduce inflammation, and prevent the formation of scar tissue
-
Immune System Support: Some studies suggest that massage therapy may boost the immune system by reducing stress and promoting relaxation.
